VII. Choice and Destiny

Sometimes you have to choose between two evils. Sometimes you've got to side with the devil you know. Sometimes you need to taste a bit of poison just to stay alive. Sometimes you have to settle for the easy rather than the difficult, the cheaper rather than the expensive, anonymity rather than fame etc.

Everybody makes choices that are seen to be life changing. But the most important choices are already made for us- our parents, place of birth, time of birth, home, education, opportunities etc. By the time we realize our power to make decision and strive for our goals, we are already on a path that has been arranged for us- not necessarily by anyone in particular, but by the course of events upon which we have little control. Then comes the question of destiny, fatalism and all those things that modernity detests.

Acceptance is the best way. Trust time to make everything clear. Sometimes you have to fall to rise again. No choice is wrong because knowledge is the greatest gain.
